Finished Gurren Lagann, I loved it so much it was the manliest most for boys man story ive ever seen and thats awesome

They are showing some old Miyazaki movies in a cinema this month, so today I went with some friends to watch Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.
I really enjoyed it, I expected it to be slow like some other Ghibli movies that I had seen but it had lots of action on it. The animation was a tiny bit dated at some specific points, but still waaaay better than most current seasonal animes, which is really good considering that this movie was made in 1984.
The story was good. Don't really wanna spoil much, so I'll just say that if felt pretty original to me, although that may be because I haven't seen many Miyazaki movies beforehand haha. I think that this is the type of movie I could end up watching with my son and both of us would end up really enjoying it.
Fun fact: If you pay attention in the opening credits, you can see that Hideaki Anno was also involved in this movie! According to MyAnimeList, he was in "key animation" (dunno what that means though lol).
