it'd be nice to be able to mark topics as read without having to open every single topic in the subforum, this would allow keeping up with threads you care to look at without being swamped by topics that aren't of your interest

EDIT: global announcements should also not count towards whether a subforum is read or not

that's definitely planned, don't worry about that one
also for the global announcement thing, to me it does make sense that they mark the subforum they belong to as read since they still belong to the category so i dunno about that one
