This is a recording of one of Jerry Lee Lewis' (few) original songs from the legendary Million Dollar Quartet session in 1956, which brought together Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and Lewis himself. The quartet recorded a bunch of stuff but this short and sweet song has stuck with me the most out of anything to emerge from the session for some reason. JLL maybe wasn't the best person in the world but he was a damn good pianist, even if gimmicky.

There's something really heartwarming about this era of American music, I suppose the cultural circumstances surrounding it weren't always the best but the mix of virtuosity and sincere whimsy is refreshing.
I once shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die.
