NEW YEAR NEW THREAD

Continuing from the thread from last year (if I made it last year I forget lmao), the time has come to make resolutions and reflect on what we set out to do last year. What do you want to accomplish this year, and what did you want to accomplish last year? Did you accomplish what you wanted to last year? If so, how and did it work out how you planned. If not, why not?

Last year my goal was to build a second paddock and expand our current goat herd. This got accomplished this year, however we've been revising the system of paddocks to maximize on grazing and browsing space and it may end up not being as useful as originally intended. We got a bunch of goats for free and we've had two births so far. This was nice but our goals are changing.

This year, I'd like to grow at least 200 lbs of potatoes. I think this is a pretty reasonable goal with the tractor I managed to get ahold of last fall. Additionally, we're going to need to build a house this year so getting that finished to a livable state (with running water and etc) is a goal as well. Lastly, we're looking to increase our sheep flock and slowly diminish our goat herd because sheep are easier to manage and produce higher value product (their meat also tastes better.) This goal is simple so it should be easy to achieve, but we need a ram to start getting some lambs going. Buying sheep is extremely expensive so doing this by reproduction is signficantly more affordable than simply buying the sheep but it will take a long time, and much more careful husbandry than what we've done in the past. A ram is about 300 bucks so we're hoping to get that done asap in the spring.

i guess my resolutions are simply to keep up this positive momentum, and to try to get out of the burnout proper & get energy to start battling the mental issues ive built up :random:

Didn't really have any goals last year so I accomplished all of them.
This year outside of the obvious "get my diploma" I'd like to speak at least novice level Spanish (I have already started this) and learn some basic webdev stuff (I have yet to start. I probably never will). Bought a new lense which will force me to go outside every so often.

would like to get some bigger misuzu changes in this year like pms done and also some kinda api so i can interface with the site without backend hackjobs

for the chat i'd like to experiment with having a multiserver setup so i can reboot one of the systems without downtime, i'd also like to make significant progress with the new chat client as well as making Any Sort Of Progress with Railgun

as for Personal Development i'd like to actually get my driver's license this year or at least make significant progress, being signed up is one thing but actually getting it is another and be More Active, the ring fit's been lying on the table for ages and it needs to be used already

Semester 1 comes to a close pretty much at the end of the week which is when De Zure Appel comes to an end

Last year's goal of getting up to 90kg healthy bodyweight did not happen. Partly due to me being lazy, but also lockdown shit.

Will push this goal on to this year + 200kg deadlift at least. Maybe get into strongman things.
Also want to start doing more projects programming wise. Not sure what kind of projects i want to do, but i will figure this out along the way.
Last resolution for this year will be getting namae in the miku cosplay

i guess another resolution would be fitting in teto cosplay this year

Looking back at last years i accomplished the most important goal, which was getting my degree and finishing college. The latter half took a whole ass year because of corona almost thought I was never going to get a job. Finally at the end of November I went out on a whim and took an interview and got a job at a nice company. So that is nice, but for now I would like for my goal to be to keep my current job until the end of the year. I am also attempting to learn C so sometime in the next months i can do some sort of audio project, since Ive been messing with the webaudio api for some time. Also surivie 2020 season 2

resolution for 2019 was to get a job and build the resources to get my own place which i accomplished, got the job and built up a fair amount of savings

resulution for 2020 was to get my own place and kick off a heroin addiction, got into the market around the time the pandemic hit so i decided getting my own place wouldn't be a good idea incase i lost my job. however the heroin addiction is going great.

this year i do actually hope to get my own place and move to a different job as the one i have now is rapidly draining my life away

just hopefully nothing bad happens on the 25th of january at 3:34 PM EST
