I don't think this belongs in technology, but I did see tensuyu's post on his phone boot looping problem and I have my own experience.
I have an iphone 10 which is extremely cracked due to how slippery it is and recently it has started to send emails, start video calls, and even sell some of my investments on its own (LOL). Weeks ago it also randomly notified me that face id has stopped working and the trueDepth camera has malfunctioned, but I thought nothing of it since I usually just put in a passcode. Anyway, on Sunday it started entering this crazy boot looping cycle and from time to time it would randomly ask me to charge it or restore it by reinstalling the OS. I tried reinstalling the OS and even updating and it did not fix the problem, so I figured it must be an internal hardware problem. So after assembling the right tools to open this trash, I was thinking of disconnecting the battery and giving it an external power supply to see if it was the problem, but I remembered that pesky face id bullshit and went with something more simple first. I removed the upper earpiece flex cable that contains the face id and by god it immediately goes to the lock screen. Why the fuck does a face id error boot loop my phone lmao this mfer.
I was able to back it up and transfer to a new iphone 13 I purchased today since I just can't touch that decrepit phone any longer. A solid 800 dollar purchase I will not look back on. If any of you have this boot looping shit on a new iphone, with face id problems, please try this before going to any phone repair or giving up, it was really simple.
Here's the front:
The green line is when my dad tried the funny and opened it from the top which proceeded to destroy the screen due to the powerful adhesive.
The inside (flex cable removed):
feel free to post more shenanigans i'm sure you all have some!!!

That's hilarious how it decides not to work without a face ID sensor. I love the whole apple propietary parts thing being locked to specific motherboards. It's so fucking gay
To add to the thread I recently replaced the charging board for my old xiaomi phone cause the USB port on it was broken and it turns out that the new charging board I have has a broken microphone on it so I have to make every call on speaker phone if I want to actually talk to people but I'm digressing. Because these charging boards for my phone are pretty cheap (around 5 bucks shipped from china and 2 bucks if you get a clone board without fast charging) I wanted to look if I could find a USB C port that has the same footprint as the micro USB port that is installed on the charging board. It'd obviously only work at USB 2.0 speeds but it'd be a nice upgrade.
think i’ve said this before but i occasionally forget it’s on the fucking table with my headphones plugged in and one move it slips right down. Also it sometimes just slips on rounded tables all on its own.i will say most of the time i’ve busted it up at work when i’m focusing on something completely different and next thing i know it’s on the ground lmao. i never busted my iphone 6 this bad and i dropped it so much from various heights, aluminum was real sturdy bros. i used to think how do people bust up their screen so much, i am now the guilty party.
