Most subjects on the forum are too difficult for me to understand or express my words for in English. Not trying to make excuses, there is plenty of other topics in which I could post and thus also should.

i've been thinking about doing a reorganisation of the forum at some point, cull some dead categories and also figure out what categories Should exists by manually reviewing all existing topics.

I've also express this before but I'd like to put an end to the concept of most "x General" topics because I think it makes it difficult to participate in later and it also just generally kills conversation because the format does make it more difficult to have non-linear conversation, and a format with replies like how Reddit does it doesn't work very well in my opinion. What I'm trying to say is the bar for making new, more subject bound topics shouldn't be as high as it feels right now...

In my opinion it is mostly a me problem for feeling like not wanting to post too much in posts like What are you listening to or any of the playpen posts. Thinking about it i have no real good reason as to why i have that feeling. Especially seeing that they get posted in often enough.

WAYLT etc and playpen are mostly filler, some threads like WAYLT and the entire forum games section are even omitted from the leaderboard counts, i don't think its just a you problem at all because i've felt the strange pressure as wel when deciding "is this worth making a topic about??"

I might want to make a topic. Would anyone else want to read the post? Much less to respond? These are the main reasons I don't like making topics

yeah i get those as well but that's really just a fear you need to step over, you won't get answers to those questions unless you try, i tend to try and at least participate even when i don't know anything and am only calling it cool or asking dumb basic questions (unless the topic does completely fly over my head), besides whatever your interests often seem to align with reemo's so you're fairly guaranteed to get a reply from him with the added bonus of others potentially being able to chime in and share their perspectives on the matter.

and as a sidenote, if anyone makes fun of others for making a genuine topic about something they are genuinely interested in, it won't go unpunished, in case such a fear is also present. not that this is something that happens but it doesn't hurt to make this statement preemptively, such behaviour does not belong here
