New Year's Resolutions (2025)
#18940
Well, I'm certainly not one to make resolutions, they're easy to break and feel sort of like a pseudoreligious observance or a substitute for making vows. On the other hand, I see that everyone else who's posted in the thread seems committed to more serious goals and it seems that a resolution is a good way to have accountability and encouragement, so I don't see why not, here goes

1. I will make significant progress in learning my fourth language (Japanese), including setting measurable goals each month which include progress in reading, writing, speaking and grammar.
2. I will finally gain weight and work on physical improvement including weight training and getting stronk (hopefully I will also start taking BJJ classes but I won't commit myself to that).
3. I will secure a full-time teaching position and begin my career.
4. I will finish at least half of my novel including drafts of each chapter open to criticism from willing judges.

Additionally, I want to thank Flash for continuing to run this site because there has been a gift of community and you have a lot of dedication and it's hard to express my thankfulness when the best way is to use the site which I haven't been great at, but yeah
