i messed around with this server and i have some observations i was not expecting with this mod:
- the default state syncs journals across all players, meaning that if one player completes a quest it will function as if you did as well, however you do not receive the rewards from the quests if you did not do them
- if you do not sync journals across all players, every player can start every quest and can receive items from talking to npcs, however anything taken in the world (e.g. the tax records and money off of processus vitelius or the dwemer scarab plans in mzuleft) is permanently gone when picked up and turned in, essentially making a majority of quests including the main quest impossible for any other player to complete
so from some research i did, this multiplayer mod is really intended to be played by a small group of people simultaneously (so quests can be done simultaneously and loot can be shared, etc.) rather than separately and sporadically like an mmo, primarily because the game's engine isn't designed to function like this. i saw a few things about resetting instances in the map over fixed periods of time to emulate this behavior, however that comes with its own problems
in order for this to function properly i think any players wanting to do a playthrough would have to coordinate beforehand in this thread or in the chat, and the server would either have to be reset or several servers would have to run on different ports simultaneously if several different groups wanted to do their own playthroughs or etc. kind of a bummer but it could still be neat, i'll see if i can figure out some more mod info or write a program myself that would aid in doing this
