i forgot how taxing ajax chat is on the server if there's more than 3 people in it, but some PHP FPM pool setting seems to have done the trick and make it work fine, now i can do my bit where i threaten everyone caught using discord instead of the ajax chat to be charged for treason
it should be back bt-dubs, though expect more tomfoolery in the coming days because i'll probably reconfigure things regardless
