i agree with szymszl, the internet is far heavier than you guys think these days, even for (maybe even especially for) casual use
I wont upgrade my phone for 5g alone however my plan with Three UK includes it at no extra charge.
The main problem for 5g is that no major carrier in the UK plans to roll it out in rural areas.
4G LTE honestly can run in excess of 100mbit in rural areas anyway.

well yeah, its not something worth solely deciding to buy a phone over, but that doesnt mean you should ignore it outright
