decided to start building an actual porch roof since i got sick of repairing the stretched tarp in the winter and lumber is very cheap right now. funnily enough this roof is actually stronger than the roof of the cabin because when i built it six years ago i had no idea how to build a roof and just guessed really hard (it works!! but is dumb)
finished for now, though i think i'm going to add a gutter on the front and maybe build a small storage loft above the door. i originally considered building railings on the sides which might look kinda cool but i lose a lot of space if i do that. glad to finally get this done since it's been bugging me for a long time but i never felt like spending the money on it, i'm pretty sure it would've collapsed if the snow this winter was normal rather than light though
added a gutter but still need to set up the downspout which will get done later. i was astounded how much gutters cost now, it cost as much to do this twelve foot run as it did to replace gutters on an entire half of an actual house seven or eight years ago
