I discovered this morning that there was a Direct today so I watched it. I usually don't watch these other than the Pokemon ones but I think overall this one was really good. Since they said beforehand that there wouldn't be any new information about the next console, I didn't really mind that nothing about it was revealed in the end.
The main reason why I liked this Direct is because I think there were many games directed to many different types of fans. There were a bunch of new games that I feel like many people would enjoy (Mario & Luigi, Zelda, Metroid, Mario Party), some new releases who weren't on the spotlight but still interesting to hear about regardless (Hundred Line a.k.a Danganronpa 2, MIO, Nintendo World Championship) and some really good ports (Hello Kitty Island Adventure, Ace Attorney, Perfect Dark, Four Swords, Dragon Quest).
Even though there were trash reveals like the Funko Pop game, at least I got to laugh at the game a bit, and there were a bunch of the "filler" releases/updates which were not that bad for a filler release, like the Denpa Men one. Wouldn't hurt to try it since it's just a dumb f2p game.
As for my personal top 3, I guess I would have to choose Mario & Luigi, Zelda and Four Swords. This last one also seems like a really cool game to play over Wi-Fi, but I would need people to play it with lmao.

I liked the Mario & Luigi, new Too Kyo Games game, and the playing as Zelda one. They did the Hello Kitty one cuz I was wearing the Kuromi hoodie today. The Mario Party also seems pretty solid. Also the Ace Attorney Investigations ports....

Nah but in all seriousness, this seemed like a comfy Direct. The one thing I will note, outside of some noticeably beta textures, Prime 4 looks insanely good... perhaps a little too good. I think the trailer footage might possibly be running on the yet-unannounced successor's early devkit. Wouldn't be surprised if it gets the Twilight Princess treatment...
Also for a game that's supposed to be about fun, the new Mario Party (as with Super and Superstars) looks visually kind of sterile. Like the GameCube models were just plopped onto a GMod map type look. Like I'm sure it'll be fun, it's just an observation.
Besides that, I like the Zelda game. I like the Nippon Ichi game. Mario and Luigi looks.... like Mario and Luigi, I'm not familiar enough with the series to judge further than that. More remakes and ports, cool. Still waiting for WWHD and TPHD to get rescued from their Wii U prison, maybe next console...

the sterileness is unfortunately to be expected with the current era of mario party so any slight positive thing feels like a massive step up... and lol you might be spot on with the metroid prime thing, i mean the same thing also happened with breath of the wild. did you ever end up picking a Switch back up or does da wife have one?
