Not much interesting about myself. I'm a video game developer who's currently working on a free music game that'll be released on Steam about dodging music. To avoid self-promotion rules I won't link it unless asked to.
In about 2022, I started probably my most "noble" work, a fan game of the Rhythm Heaven franchise called "Heaven Studio", which eventually moved on without me, you may or may not have heard about it, it got pretty big.
That's it. Cool site.
"The universe itself has an unlimited supply of generosity and surprise built in, and as designers we only need to keep our eyes open to what is here."
Just in case no one told you, there is a cool 88x31 button that geb made, so feel free to use it in your blog if you wanna!
I've definitely seen Heaven Studio around on Youtube but I've never tried it out myself, that's actually really cool though!! Also consider your new game hereby asked about, I really still need to revise the rules someday, they were written for a different era and are a bit too strict now that things have calmed down :p
Also thank you for the comments about the website! I've been doing this since abouts 2013, with the current iteration mostly starting out in 2019. I am, uhh, Opinionated when it comes to how I program and run things so there's definitely a lot of what some may consider Reinventing The Wheel going on here and there, but I can make the wheel Better (subjective) sooo...
Anywho, I hope to see you around and enjoy your stay!
Here's my game: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2175480/Motionmelody/, it's in the private play-testing phase right now, but we are making progress! Here's a level one of my play-testers made as an example of what the gameplay is like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Swa612vsE2Q. I can post even more about it soon, like in it's own thread showing off all the cool editor features and stuff if you guys are interested!
For more info about Heaven Studio, I wrote about 95% of the level editor for the game. I intentionally left myself unaccredited because I hated what the game has become. I'm sure through some old builds you can still find my name, though. I wasn't working on it when it got DMCA'd.
Also, thanks for telling me about the button, I've just added that to my site.
> e: you also seem to be the perfect fit for this place. the first post on your blog is an autistic ramble about population decline. amazing love it keep up the good work
Yes, I'm autistic, what gave it away? LOL
> I'm definitely still curious how because we've had some funny stories like G2_Games literally just dialling in random words followed by .moe and stumbling into my personal website.
I found this site just from a link on another site, I don't remember which one. There's something very magical about finding new things on the internet that isn't a cesspool of corporations and bot accounts. Nice breath of fresh air.
By the way, is there a way to properly quote posts?
"The universe itself has an unlimited supply of generosity and surprise built in, and as designers we only need to keep our eyes open to what is here."
and no there's currently no way to quote posts because the current bbcode parser is regex based and horrible things happen when you try to go too far with that, I keep putting off learning how to do proper parsing so be sure to bother me about it.
