What's the use case for brown bricks?

ackshually my server is using Better Than Adventure which is based off 1.7.3. It's a cool mod though if you prefer beta you'd probably like it, though I do think it has some kinda braindead design decisions

we play on an island generated with BTA's indev terrain options, so it isn't quite the usual BTA experience but still fun :3

what was the first survival version ever released that was multiplayer but it was always day and there were no monsters (i think?) because i remember staying up really late like 15 or 16 years ago with teamspeak friends waiting for it to release and i thought it was the coolest shit in the universe despite there being pretty much nothing other than crafting
