with search engines like google and ddg being filled with mundane informationless SEO dogshit generated by human and large language models alike, i've been wondering if anyone here has found some other search engine that has enough results to actually be useful but filtered well enough to rid it of the aforementioned sewer stream?

i'm currently trying to get myself to learn japanese better by enclosing myself in it like i did with english back in the day without even knowing, but it's proving to be difficult with everything online being so generic, below mediocre in quality, completely empty yet bloated and precisely tailored to any info grabbable from what my browser sends and where it sends it from..

http://wiby.me is a good search engine for finding websites that don't use much Javascript and are simple. You can find a lot of older websites from the geocities era with this. There is a lot of actual useful new websites on there too.

I like to use 4get http://4get.ca/instances so that I can switch between search engines. If you want to mash them all together use SearX https://searx.space although it is quite buggy.

As for Japanese, I would recommend Tatsumoto Ren's guide https://tatsumoto.neocities.org/ The only way to learn a language is through immersion and a massive amount of input.

BTW digdeeper has created a webpage where he reviews every single search engine on the internet https://digdeeper.club/articles/search.xhtml
