It would be neat to have a way to allow images to have different crop levels for different sizes. My main issue is that the icons in chat are tiny, and if you want any character to be anywhere close to recognizable you need a very tight crop, which looks worse for a forum. For example,
the wider shot looks nice in a more spacious context,
but is kind of messy this scaled down,
so you need the face to be a little bigger,
which i guess works but is kind of eh in the forum.

i've always kind of had the idea to let people be able to upload multiple avatars and be able to select on based on whatever they want to have next to their posts, it was something ACMLM Board also let you do iirc and this feature probably wouldn't be super out of place next to that
