I'm planning on my right arm to have a patchwork sleave of various manga, tattoos are not cheap so hopefully soon.

i just saw this thread; has anyone here actually tattooed something? i've been thinking of doing something a lot of times, but i regret like pretty much every decision i make like if i buy coke instead of pepsi i will be a whole ass week thinking about how that pepsi would have tasted better. i think i would be paranoid as shit all the time thinking about how bad it looks in comparison to something else i could have made, in some other part of my body or if i hadn't done it at all, like how do i know if what i just tattooed will represent me 20 years from now? i am still not even one third into my life

I'm glad I did not start getting tattoos the moment I turned 18. I waited and then got the stuff I still wanted in my 20's.
Your going to need a long hard think about it before going ahead and research local artists well. You want to find someone you get on with and totally trust.
Some of the best people i've met are tattoo artists and most will be like that but i've heard shitty things can happen. (more in some countries than others)
You also need to think about placement, tattoos are very popular and accepted in English speaking countries espcially the UK where even hand and neck placements tend to be fine for most jobs however this may be diffrent depending on where you are.
Ultimatly as it's pernament have a big think but if you want them and can afford it, go for it. You only live once after all.
