The Collaborative Update
Many spaces online are increasingly expanding their featureset in order to make working together with others a more efficient experience. As we all know it is extremely important to keep up with the competition but also add your own spin on it to stay unique in this busy market environment. On top of that we must continue to foster our sense of community and togetherness by really feeling the presence of one-another beyond just text on a screen. For these reasons, I am happy to introduce you all to the latest global feature, Shared Pointing™!
Starting today you are able to see the cursor position of your fellow Flashii members anywhere on the site, wherever you go. You will be able to identify each other by your System Assigned Identification Number™ (SAIN), visible at the end of the URL to your personal profile page, and potentially your role colour. Members that are not part of a role will be able to enjoy a game of on-the-clock roulette as to which colour they will be assigned.
However, with great power comes great responsibility. I expect everyone to behave like the proper adults that they are as members of our esteemed community and not use this new featureset to bother or otherwise be a nuisance towards others. It would also be greatly looked down upon if the systems are abused or the proprietary Shared Pointing™ technology be reverse engineered in any way.
I believe Shared Pointing™ will truly enrich the experience and be an asset to us all. I heartily await your feedback and to see the things you will all be capable of achieving with these new possibilities.
This was the April Fools' funny for this year, the source code is available over on patchii.net/flashii/april-fools-2025. Thank you for participating!
