Come play Splatoon with us!
You will need:
- A copy of the game (ideally version 288, none other tested, dumped by yourself obviously!)
- If using Cemu, these files -> copy (merge in) the contents of mlc01 into your MLC folder, and copy cafeLibs into your Cemu folder. You can open both from the menu.
- If emulating, a controller that can do motion (Nintendo or PlayStation). Remember to Input settings 🢒 Controller 🢒 Settings 🢒 🗹 Use motion!
- If you don't have one, there's apparently some ways to abuse a phone into giving motion data, allowing you to emulate the charm of Wii U-era Wiimote-strapped-to-procon-jank, but no one here has tried them yet. If you do, say how it went!
- If you really really really don't have any way to have motion and you live in a helium atmosphere that bricks all MEMS accelerometers around you, you can barely get through the tutorial by holding right click while dragging on the window to simulate motion, then once you're in Inkopolis you can select on your gamepad Options 🢒 Motion Controls 🢒 OFF. You will be immediately worse at the game, but using dual stick will make you very gamer and extremely XBOX.
- An account at Fiitendo. This is our private server (instance of Pretendo, hosted by nook, maintained by me). Instructions on how to connect are listed on there. Join the Chat to ask any questions that might unexplicably arise in the registration process.
- Optional: make a Mii! Entirely useless, but fun. I think you need to regenerate your account.dat afterwards, and due to caching jank this is best done as early as possible anyway.
After setting up, boot Friends, invite everyone you know. We don't have enough people for matchmaking, so Private Battles with Friends is all there is!

Troubleshooting:
- If Cemu is upset that "Online play is not set up", you can click on the ⚠ to see what specifically it's angry about.
- Make sure that Windows Defender's firewall isn't upset. I know I have seen it pop up while trying to connect.
If you want to ask for help, go to Debug 🢒 Logging 🢒 CafeOS modules logging, then check everything beginning with an 'n', then select Debug 🢒 Open logging window. Try to spot anything that looks related, especially mentioning failed requests, CURL, NEX, PRUDP, BOSS, IOSU, and OAuth.

as an aside, consider editing your save with a tool such as https://mirayxs.github.io/SplatHeX/SplatHeX.html (no affiliation) if you want weapons besides splattershot jr, it's kinda infeasible to unlock them organically right now
