right now i have a t580 and it has a number of quirks that are just straight up unacceptable, sometimes the fucker gives me smol shocks through the earplugs i have plugged in and the display is just abysmal in terms of colour quality

My dad still has a X60 issued to him by his work (is super fucking slow on windows 10 enterpise)

iirc, 2011 was like the last golden year for thinkpad design with some 2012 and 2013 skus being okay at best. i'd still probably shy away from thinkpads altogether as the well built ones are too old for a lot of modern performance purposes, but i guess if you only need a laptop for schoolwork and browsing they're still viable

The X60 and X61 are some of the best laptops of all time
my laptop has seen better days, but i will stick with it as new laptops are utter garbages
